When choosing a company name, we came across the story of the famed World War II, Colorado-based, 10th Mountain Division. They were the only American division of its size trained to fight in winter and mountain terrain – and were specifically training for an invasion of Italy.
In that spirit, their rally cry was Italian – Sempre Avanti. Meaning “Always Forward.” We saw the beauty and the strength in these words and adopted Avanti as our business name. We’re always looking forward as a company. A secondary meaning of “Sempre Avanti” is “Always Welcome” which serves as a guiding principal for our valued residents.

Doug has worked in commercial real estate in Colorado since 1983 and has specialized in apartments and multifamily land since 1991. In the last ten years, with his partner Jeff Hawks, he has closed more than $7.4 billion in multifamily transactions, representing a list of clients that includes JPI, Equity Residential Properties Trust, AMLI Residential Trust, Blackrock, The Carmel Companies, Embrey Partners, The Morgan Group, Archstone/Smith, TIAA/CREF, Wellsford Real Properties, First Pacific, Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing, Griffis Blessing, Waterton Associates LLC, Pauls Corporation, Baron Properties, CAN Insurance, Sentinel Real Estate, Lincoln Property Company, Columbia Savings, John Hancock, Henderson Global Investors, Prudential Real Estate Investors, Goldman Sachs, RREEF, Allied Realty Services, PaineWebber Properties, Principal Insurance and Simpson Housing. In 2005, Doug co-founded Capital Real Estate. He is also a partner in ARA Newmark’s Denver office. ARA Newmark is a full-service investment advisory brokerage firm that focuses exclusively on the multifamily industry. He was honored as the Denver Realtor’s Investment Broker of the Year in 2000 and has been the #1 multi-housing specialist in Denver for 20 of the last 21 years.
Prior to 1991, Mr. Andrews was president of Andrews & Company, a family held commercial real estate investment and development firm with more than $30 million in assets, including apartments, office and retail properties. Mr. Andrews is a native of Denver and a graduate of The Colorado College in Colorado Springs. He is a past president of the Rotary Club of Denver Southeast, currently serves as a director on the board of the Colorado I Have A Dream Foundation and has served as president of Apartment Realty Advisors, Inc.

With a career spanning four decades in commercial real estate, Christian brings a wealth of expertise and insights to his current role as President & CEO with Avanti Residential. His extensive journey in the industry encompasses diverse leadership roles in investment, finance, operations, brokerage, acquisitions, and portfolio management, with a cumulative involvement in real estate transactions exceeding $8 billion. Notably, spearheading multifamily investments totaling $6.8 billion across a portfolio spanning over 170 properties.
Christian's professional trajectory led him to a pivotal 15-year tenure at GE Real Estate, where he served as Managing Director, entrusted with creating and then overseeing the equity investment team across the western United States.
Throughout his career, Christian has occupied senior leadership positions within various investment and lending firms, through multiple economic cycles.
Christian's involvement in the real estate landscape extends beyond his corporate responsibilities, with past affiliations in esteemed organizations such as the California Mortgage Bankers Association, National Multifamily Housing Association, and the Urban Land Institute in addition to authoring multiple published industry-relevant articles. He is also actively engaged in Avanti Residential's philanthropic initiatives.
Residing in Denver, Colorado, alongside his wife of 28 years and raising two adult children, Mr. Garner's life outside of real estate is marked by a deep love for the outdoors, a passion for sailing, and an appreciation for large canine companions.
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Brenda was previously a VP at Pinnacle Management in Seattle where she was responsible for operations, business development, and client relations. She oversaw a portfolio of 55 properties for 8,000 units and team of seven Regional Managers.
Brenda is a 22-year veteran in this industry with experience in multiple roles, markets, and product types such as new construction, renovations, and value-add properties. Her history of success is widespread with other multifamily firms including MG Properties, BRE Properties, Lyon Communities, Orion Real Estate and JPI.
In her free time, Brenda's passions are animals and the outdoors. She has completed two full Ironman triathlons, about 15 marathons, and competes in numerous triathlon events each year. She is actively involved in the local Doberman rescue organization and has two at home that she rescued. Brenda's adventures have led her to swim, run, and bike through Spain, swim the Greek Isles, bungee jump, skydive, and hike Mt. Whitney Brenda holds a California, Washington, and Colorado Real Estate License. She attended Kings River College in California where she was a member of the woman’s basketball and softball teams.
In 2023, Brenda was named Arizona Executive of the Year at the Arizona Multihousing Association's Tribute Awards.
SVP OF HUMAN RESOURCES
Mari joined Avanti as SVP of Human Resources in June 2022. She has enjoyed an extensive career in Human Resources that spans 20+ years. Mari has worked on the senior executive level for multi-billion dollar S&P public Real Estate companies in corporate America including AIMCO, Prologis and UDR, Inc. as an SVP of Human Resources.
Her professional career has been focused on taking a holistic approach to developing and expanding an enterprise’s culture including diversity, equity and belonging, employee engagement, succession planning, and leadership development. Mari currently serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver and Project Sanctuary, a retreat provider for military families recovering from the stress of deployment.
Mari holds a BS in Psychology and has completed graduate work for Master’s degrees in the fields of Education and Counseling at Arizona State University. She holds a certification for the facilitation of Leadership for Women.

Drew has served in the role of General Counsel for Avanti Residential since 2020. He has more than 20 years of legal and real estate experience, including over 10 years serving as in-house legal counsel for two large companies: a national homebuilder and a global manufacturing conglomerate.
Drew’s experience also includes private practice at two Denver law firms with a focus on commercial and residential real estate development, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and finance (including financing of public infrastructure projects).
Drew holds a B.A. in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara and a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of Colorado and is a member of the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
SVP, CONTROLLER
Mary Kate, Avanti's Senior Vice President Controller, joined the company in September 2022. She assumes a pivotal role at Avanti, spearheading all facets of accounting. Her responsibilities encompass overseeing a comprehensive array of domains, including property, partnership, and corporate financials as well as tax preparations, and treasury management. With her astute oversight, and focus on innovation and efficiency she ensures the financial integrity and strategic alignment of the organization, fostering a robust foundation for Avanti's continued success. With over a decade of diverse experience in real estate accounting, Mary Kate's background spans construction, corporate, residential, and commercial sectors. In her prior role as Property Controller at Cortland, she managed accounting for 100-plus properties and played a key role in transactions, some involving over 20 assets simultaneously. During her 8 years at Cortland, Mary Kate contributed to the growth of the accounting department as the company expanded from under 50 to over 250 properties. Mary Kate is a registered North Carolina CPA, and holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Accounting from Kennesaw State University.
SVP OF PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
Jono is the SVP of Portfolio Management for Avanti Residential with the responsibility of providing portfolio-level analysis and reporting and supporting all quantitative aspects of fundraising efforts. Jono has more than 10 years of real estate experience with roles in accounting and portfolio management. Prior to joining Avanti Residential, he was at Carmel Partners, a multifamily operator in acquisition/renovation deals and development projects in select US markets. While at Carmel, he led the Fund Management group where he was responsible for managing six private equity funds with $5.2B in assets under management and part of a team that successfully raised $3.4B in equity from institutional partners. He started his career in San Diego where he received his CPA certification and worked as an auditor at a regional public accounting firm, CBIZ, Inc./Mayer Hoffman McCann, and focused primarily on public companies.
Jono has a Masters in Accountancy and Financial Management and B.S. in Accountancy from the University of San Diego. He enjoys golfing, all things Denver sports, traveling, and getting outdoors with his wife and daughter.

Robert joined Avanti Residential in 2019. He has over 20 years of asset and property management experience. Robert has held asset management roles with Aslan Realty Group, Lyon Management, Shea Properties and most recently Homeunion, Inc. Robert has overseen $2B of multi-family and single family real estate totaling more than 12,000 units. Robert’s abilities include asset management, evaluating acquisition opportunities, managing property renovations and third-party property management companies, and executing property business plans. Robert attended California State University at Long Beach.

Ian Andrews is the Vice President of Innovation and Analytics for Avanti Residential. Ian started with Avanti after founding and running two successful multifamily technology companies. With a foundation of 13 years in the apartment industry, he is tasked with the scaling, development, and deployment of innovative technology systems to help Avanti meet its goals and achieve superior results.
Ian’s dedication to the industry developed at a young age. As a third-generation multifamily veteran, he had several industry role models to look up to. Ian attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, earning a bachelor's degree in Business and International Political Economy. Post-college, he worked as a research analyst for Apartment Realty Advisors and as a multifamily housing specialist for Power Apartment Leasing & Marketing. These experiences allowed Ian to gain a deeper understanding of the real estate industry, and operations in particular, while also giving him a chance to apply his passion for technology into practice.
Today, Ian is looking forward to leveraging his talents with data and tech to bring unique advantages and insights to Avanti. His fresh perspective and atypical skillsets will help Avanti develop a more effective, and original, approach to the multifamily industry.
Ian calls Denver, CO his home and tries to take full advantage of everything the city and its surroundings have to offer. He loves spending time with his wife, April and his daughter, Helen, and he golfs, skis, and fishes as often as he can.
CORPORATE COUNSEL & INVESTOR RELATIONS MANAGER
Ahnaleza joined Avanti Residential as Corporate Counsel in 2022. In this role, she assists with corporate and transactional matters and is the initial point of contact for any legal issues that affect Avanti’s property management team.
She began her legal career in litigation, but has spent the past 4 years serving as in-house legal counsel for multi-state, vertically integrated real estate companies.
Ahnaleza holds a B.A. in Social Science and a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law. She is admitted to practice in the State of Colorado and the State of Illinois. She is a member of the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association.
While originally from the Great Lakes Region, Ahnaleza now enjoys living and working in Colorado. In her free time, she can often be found hiking with her husband and two dogs.
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Rich serves in the role of Managing Director for Avanti Residential with responsibility for strategic growth and institutional capital relationships. He has more than 18 years of real estate experience with roles in capital markets, fundraising, asset management, underwriting, and development. Prior to joining Avanti Residential he successfully raised $3 billion in equity from institutional capital partners for Carmel Partners, a multifamily operator investing in acquisition/renovation deals and development projects in select US markets. While at Carmel Partners he also oversaw the repositioning and disposition of a $1 billion portfolio of multifamily investments located in Colorado, Arizona and Texas. Additionally, he led the capital formation of a $100 million fund at PEF Advisors, a first-time sponsor focused on the affordable housing space where he was part of the senior leadership team and a member of the investment committee. Rich is a past member of ULI, PREA, and IREI Americas Editorial Board.
Rich has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University. He is married with five children and enjoys running, skiing, and whatever activity is in season for his children.

Jason Wine serves as Avanti Residential’s Vice President of Acquisitions. In this capacity he is responsible for asset acquisitions, market underwriting, transaction / due diligence management and business development. His 27-year multi-family career has given him extensive experience and a broad perspective including property management, development, investment, and multi-family brokerage.
Since joining Avanti’s predecessor company in 2013, Jason has overseen $2.3 billion in multi-family acquisitions across 46 transactions totaling 10,700 units as well as $781 million in dispositions. His broad range of transactional experience includes value add, core-plus, syndications, institutional JVs, ground up development, tax increment financing, recapitalizations, land lease acquisitions, mixed use retail, and affordable housing. He has worked extensively in the Denver, Colorado Springs, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, and the southern Florida markets. Prior to joining Avanti Jason was an associate broker with Apartment Realty Advisors where he oversaw $2.775 billion in investment sales across 163 transactions.
Jason graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and in 2006 received a master’s degree from Denver University in Real Estate and Construction Management. Jason is a licensed Colorado real estate agent and a fourth generation Colorado native.

VP OF ENTERPRISE SOLUTIONS
Brianna brings 20 years of multi-family expertise with her, with experience in multiple states, specializing in organizations experiencing rapid growth with acquisitions.
Prior to Avanti, Brianna served as the Senior Talent Development Manager for Cortland. Cortland’s portfolio is over 80K units in twenty-four primary US markets and the UK. Before that, she was with MG Properties as the Director of Training and Reputation for nine years as they expanded from 8K units to 30K in her time with them. As she created a training program and team at MG, she re-organized the department to accommodate rapid growth into new markets. Her team quickly grew from one to nine as the training program expanded into each region and the mentor program flourished. The training department oversaw L&D, initiatives and implementation, reputation, social media, and the customer experience. Brianna was the lead on the transition team, as well, for all new Acquisitions. She was the champion for the three-day leadership conference, operations summits, stream-lining committee, philanthropy efforts, and corporate culture.
Brianna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Business Management. Prior to multi-family, Brianna was teaching preschool and always thought she would be an elementary school teacher. She is grateful to be able to combine her love for teaching and knowledge of property management into one amazing career!

VP, OPERATIONS
Jennifer joined Avanti in 2021 and is an accomplished Regional Director with 20+ years of experience in property management and leadership roles. Jennifer started her career in Investor Relations raising capital to fund multifamily purchases and moved to onsite operations, fell in love, and has been in Operations ever since. Jennifer has worked in third-party and owner managed environments and has operated properties at Alliance Residential and CWS Apartment Homes in Texas, Colorado and Arizona. Jennifer has managed portfolios of over 2,500 units and supervised renovation projects in excess of $5MM.
She is passionate about building and leading teams, and the process of bringing something from good to excellent. Jennifer earned her BA from University California, Irvine in Economics and Masters Degree from Grand Canyon University in Business Administration.

Gloria joined Avanti in February 2020 and has 9 years of experience in the multifamily industry. Gloria started out as a leasing agent with Pinnacle but was quickly recognized throughout her tenure at Pinnacle, and began her journey as an ambassador for Revenue Management. For the last two years, she lead revenue management for Weidner and was a key ally for her supported regions of AZ, CA, OK and CO.
DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITIONS
Peter joined Avanti in 2022 and serves as the company’s Director of Acquisitions. He is responsible for sourcing and executing new investment opportunities in support of Avanti’s overall investment strategy. Peter brings over 20 years of commercial real estate experience, including 14 years in acquisitions, dispositions, fund strategy and joint-venture structuring on investments throughout the risk spectrum on a national basis.
Prior to joining Avanti, Peter was Senior Director of Acquisitions with Denver-based Forum Investment Group and has held previous positions with Aegon Asset Management, Ryan Companies and American Realty Advisors.
Peter graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and is a Certified General Appraiser and Licensed Real Estate Agent. He enjoys traveling, live music and spending time with his wife and daughter.
DIRECTOR OF EQUITY - INSTITUTIONAL
Dave serves as Avanti’s Director of Equity. His responsibilities include procurement of equity through family offices, private equity groups and institutional investment firms. He also assists with investor relationships and fulfilling the needs of current and future high net worth private investors as well as assisting in deal sourcing. Previously, Dave procured over 6.5 million square feet of agency business and negotiated leases and sales in excess of 2 million square feet during his 10 years with Cushman & Wakefield. He oversaw hundreds of transactions totaling over $2 billion in asset value during his 10 years as Regional Manager/Director of Management Services with Grubb & Ellis and as Regional Manager with Marcus & Millichap. As Director of SV Capital, Mr. Osborne was responsible for procurement of over $250 million in equity and $500 million in debt financing. This capital has been distributed through a number of SV Capitals resort projects totaling over $1.5 billion in asset value.
Dave is a licensed Colorado Real Estate Broker and a member of NAIOP, ULI, and NACOR. He is also involved with the Denver Chamber of Commerce Business Leaders & CEO Exchange, as well as the Mile High Unit of the American Cancer Society Board of Directors.

Sameer joined Avanti as Director of Technology in April of 2022. He is a customer-focused, results-driven IT leader and technology expert with a 12-year career in leading IT strategy and solutions. He has excelled across infrastructure services, end-user services, enterprise applications, product implementation, building integrations, and more. Sameer is an out-of-the-box thinker who is committed to continuous improvement and customer success while incorporating unique strategies and new technologies.
DIRECTOR OF EXPERIENCE
Olga joined Avanti Residential in May 2022 as the Florida Regional Director. With 18 years of experience and a top-performing record, she has worked in all facets of multifamily from the ground up. Her management portfolio has encompassed tax credit, luxury lease-up, high-rise, mix-use, add value, renovations, construction, and major remediation projects. She has won lease-up property of the year, most consistent net rental income, and above and beyond awards in the past. Before Avanti, she managed portfolios in Florida and Virginia for American Landmark. As a Florida native, she is well versed and connected in the South Florida market. She is a Miami Board of Realtors member and holds a Florida Real Estate and Community Association license. One of her biggest strengths is quickly and easily seeing skills and talents that people don’t even realize they have. Olga is passionate about coaching and mentoring her teams to success. She believes that the possibilities are endless in what can be achieved collaboratively.

Cody joined Avanti in 2022, bringing 13 years of multifamily experience. He has held nearly every position on site, from maintenance technician to community manager, and everything in between. He also brings previous experience in training, fraud prevention, property repositioning, acquisitions, and IT work. Cody has a passion for finding and resolving problems within communities, and in his free time enjoys rock climbing, weightlifting, and hiking the mountains of the state he now calls home - Colorado.

Victoria joined Avanti as Senior Regional Director in November 2023 with over 10 years of experience in property management. She has held positions with three of the largest multifamily operators including Cushman & Wakefield, Lincoln Property Company, and Alliance Residential. Victoria has demonstrated a progressive track record of being an effective leader by remaining focused on people first and foremost, creating a culture of enthusiasm among her team. Her background includes a variety of asset types including student housing, garden-style, and mid-rise along with multi-site, conventional, stabilized, repositioning, and lease-ups. Victoria is known for her problem-solving skills and ability to align client goals with community achievements. Victoria holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. Outside of work, she enjoys home design projects and spending time with her husband, four year old son, and their two dogs.

Ricky joined Avanti Residential in March 2022 as the Kansas Regional Director. As an 18-year multi-family industry veteran, he has held roles with Harbor Group Management, Clarity Management Group, Orion Property Group & Virtu Investments. Prior to Avanti, he managed a sizeable portfolio of 2000+ units in the states of Missouri, New Mexico, & Arizona. Ricky is an active member of the AAKC and serves as a Board Director & has received his CAM, CAPS, LEAD, & LYCEUM. He was also awarded the 2021 Multi-site Manager of the year over 2000 units through the AAKC. Ricky is passionate about the growth Avanti has displayed and excited to see this continue, building relationships and helping his team achieve their goals.

Brandy joined Avanti as an Arizona Regional Director in November of 2023. She has been working in the Multifamily industry for 23 years and brings a diversity of experience in both management and the investment management side of our business. Starting from the site level, just shortly after graduating, Brandy has an affinity with both owner managed and fee managed assets with a passion for building teams and fostering opportunities of training and growth. Brandy’s experience in construction and new development place-hold over a decade of her career in the Seattle metropolitan market transitioning her to the last few years working in both Seattle and Phoenix metro area.

Erin Mangers is a seasoned professional with 25 years of experience in the multi-family real estate industry. Over the course of her career, she has developed deep expertise in property management, acquisitions, and strategic portfolio growth. Her comprehensive understanding of the market and her ability to navigate complex transactions have made her a trusted leader in the field. Erin’s vast experience ranges from luxury downtown lease-ups and stabilized class A assets to class B/C, affordable, mixed use and value-add assets that required repositioning and/or rebranding. Erin is well-known for her multifamily expertise, strong communication skills and her charismatic personality. She is a very participatory and thoughtful leader who has been described as creative, strategic, insightful, supportive, ethical, compassionate, and focused on continued growth and corporate health. Stella brings over 16 years of experience in multifamily real estate overseeing a diverse range of assets from distressed properties to luxury new construction. She honed her skills and expertise at Greystar, where she was honored with the prestigious Regional Manager of the Year award. Known for her proficiency in asset repositioning, lease-up strategies, and value-add projects, Stella excels in building and developing top-tier teams. With a background working with third party and owner managed assets, as well as expertise in business development, retail, and condominium associations, Stella brings a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of success to every project. Fluent in three languages, she is able to effectively communicate across diverse teams.

Melissa Bennett is a dynamic leader with over 16 years of multifamily experience. She has successfully and consistently driven performance improvements that enhance revenue, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Melissa is skilled in building and retaining strong teams, training and development and online reputation management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Weber State University.
ASSET MANAGER
Victoria serves on Avanti’s Acquisitions Team as the Acquisitions Associate, and has been with the company since 2017. In her role, she is responsible for underwriting of new acquisitions, recapitalizations, and assists in the process of due diligence and transaction management.
Victoria graduated from University of Denver with a Bachelor’s Degree from the Burns School of Real Estate in the Built Environment, as well as a Master’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate. Victoria is originally from Naples, Florida and has been a proud Colorado resident since 2013.
SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST
David joined Avanti Residential in 2021 and serves as a Senior Financial Analyst on the acquisitions team. He is responsible for underwriting new acquisitions and recapitalizations, as well as supporting the due diligence and transaction management process. Over his career he has held various roles within accounting, finance, and investment management and consulting.
David received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting/Finance from Saint John’s University (MN). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and member of the CFA Society of Colorado. David is originally from Minnesota and moved to Colorado in 2018.
